Winter has finally settled in. There is plenty of ice on the area lakes. Some lakes do have slush on them. I wouldn't drive a truck on it, but it's fine for snowmobiles and four wheelers. Fishing has been slow. The walleyes are biting but not in any great numbers. Panfishing has been o.k.

 There is anywhere from 18-24 inches of snow in the woods. Area ski hills are open. Ski Brule conditions are great. We are only 15 minutes from Ski Brule as well as numerous cross country trails. Those trails are reporting excellent conditions. If you have never snowshoed this is the year for it. Snowshoeing is great exercise and an awsome way to enjoy the peace and quiet that the northwoods has to offer.

 

 

 

 

 Opening weekend is only months away. Now is also the time to start thinking about your summer vacation. Plenty of dates are still available, but reservations are coming in. Now is the time to start planning your new vacation memories.
